Awesome rendition of Baird and Dom.. but uh, isn't that a Grenadier? Snipers wear this full on helmet with a single eye, don't they?
Nitpicking aside, it's nice to see one of the less-major characters.. agreed to the other commenters, his lines are hilariously mean. I also love how he invariably winds up working with Marcus (producing such classic responses from Dom and Cole like 'Aww, ain't that sweet.' 'Yeah, like two assholes on their first date.' )
I don't know why most people never mention that Baird is in fact the mechanic of the group. He fixes at least 2 APC's in the original Gears and seems to be pretty handy with the tools of the trade. Yeah he's an asshole but he's a pretty solid character.
Anyway. About the art itself, it's very well done, good lines, excellent detail. Favorite'd, and a nice job. -smiles-
This is a sniper from gow1 and 2. What miss leads everyone it the skin part. They wear armor on unlike the grenaders. Felt like drawing him shirtless. But in gears 2 they wear another helmet with four or six lenses. The one with the one eye helmet is the cyclopes drone, the lancer toting foes.
I like baird out the whole group. I think its because he looks like an Arnold.
Aw damn I just got served! Come to think of it, I think you're right about the locust in question.. sometimes it's hard because they all look very similar.. the helmet and armor are often the only way to tell common enemies apart (some rarer enemies, like the Kantus, for example, are very tall and stand out in the field, while the boss enemies, RAAM and Skorge, are hard to miss by any consideration).
Awesome picture. Baird is my second favorite character. Anthony Carmine is my favorite. XD It sucks that *SPOILER* two of the Carmine brothers are already dead. *END SPOILER* I bet if they make a new Gears game the other brother will be in it. XD
My main critique to thee would be that thy work of art hath missing a piece of Cole. Not to mention that Baird's arms are not muscular enough (remember that this game contains more individual testosterone-mountain characters than the entire American criminal underground put together).
But still it's a fairly good piece of work. Plus it feels vaguely refreshing when someone chooses the small-time characters to be the center of attention (no offense intended, but it seems to me that characters such as Fenix are a tad more popular than Baird).
your drawing skill is amazing, my fav character's are Marcus and Dom. I like Baird because he's funny with all his complaining. Hehe, if i had to sum them all up i would call them like this, Marcus the badass leader, Dom the funny man, Cole the big friendly giant and Baird the resident asshole.
